Joan has been a union member for over 40 years. The last 13 years have been with Local 705. During her union career before coming to Local 705, she was part of telephone industry contract negotiations with Illinois Bell and AT&T. She worked on organizing new members and worked closely with her members in various union capacities including local union officer positions with the IBEW. Since coming to Local 705, she has been in charge of the union dues department and more recently many other functions around the office. She has been instrumental in bringing the Local into the computer age.
