Hallett Movers Strike
12/29/2011 - 4:51pm
Hallett Movers struck Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 6:30 am. Hallett has refused to sign their contract. Two meetings to wrap things up were canceled by the company because they were “too busy to meet.” Refusing to sign a contract is an unfair labor practice. Thursday, Hallett had so much work over 30 movers were coming to help out. In a bold move, the Union Representative, Richard de Vries caucused with the members and they unanimously said shut it down. 7:14 a.m. the dispatcher came running out with an email from the owners agreeing to sign. Direct action wins. Happy New Year from the militant movers at Hallett.
